William Young

William "Bill" Franklin Young of Whittier NC went home to be with his heavenly Father on February 5, 2024. 

Bill was born in Richmond Virginia to the late Clarence Leroy "Pete" Young and Martha Elizabeth Wright on September 18, 1952. Bill was a loving husband, father, and friend. 

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Delores Fawley Young, a son Joshua Stevenson Young, Joshua's mother Donna Stevenson, both of Whittier, NC; a stepson Bryan James Evans and his wife, Briana Hugelmaier, two grandsons, Ethan Evans 14 and Christopher "Pher" Hugelmaier 10 of Raleigh, NC; a sister Jo Young Phillips and her husband George of Roper, NC and a brother Leroy Young and his wife Becky of Madison GA; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He went to work at Elder's Hardware in Bryson City in 2023 where he became friends with many people in and around Swain and Jackson Counties. 

No funeral is planned at this time, as it was Bill's wishes to be cremated, a celebration of his life to be held at a later date.
