William Clifford Stillwell, 69 of Sylva, NC passed away Sunday, January 8, 2016. He is the son of the late Fredrick and Annie (Fullwood) Stillwell. He is survived by his wife Mary Johnson who he married in 2008. William left college early to join the Navy from 1968 to 1971 where he was part of the Seabee Battalion. Around 1975 William and his brother George was owners of Stillwell Enterprise for 40 plus years. He was a man who lived for work and worked to live. In addition to his wife Mary he is survived by two children, Alec Stillwell and wife Renee of Sylva, NC and Laura Stillwell of Sylva, NC; three grandchildren Sam, Maddie and Kate; three brothers Warren Stillwell, Richard Stillwell and Coleman Stillwell; five sisters Jeannie Kelly (Bob), Libby Hall (Carroll), Margie Lewis (Tim), Paula Dowdle (Johnny) and Mary Sue Garner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy and George Stillwell and one sister Jo Gardner. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2016 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Eddie Stillwell, Rev. Earl Holden and Rev. Doc Luker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Wednesday, January 11, 2016 at Appalachian Funeral Service. Burial will follow the service at Stillwell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers
