William Harold Davis

William "Bill" Davis, age 72, of Whittier, N.C., passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024, at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, N.C., surrounded by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon, and their daughter, Kimberly Radcliffe, after a long illness.

Bill was a graduate of Swain County High School and earned an associate degree in Business Administration from Southwestern Community College in Sylva, N.C.

He spent several years as the manager of Cherokee Dairy Queen before transitioning into the building and carpentry trades as an independent contractor. Bill retired in 2020 from Mountain Projects, where he served as the Construction Manager, overseeing the construction and rehabilitation of low-income housing.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Elizabeth Davis of Bryson City, N.C.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, their daughter, Kimberly Radcliffe (Peter) of High Point, N.C., and his brothers Butch (Phillis), Tommy (Joyce), and Hugh (Barbara). He is also survived by his beloved grandson, Pearson Stanley.

The family extends special thanks to brother-in-law Nelson Dunn, nephew Bryan Davis, and dear friends Charles and Michelle Lawson, along with their daughters, Emma and Penny. They are also grateful for the compassionate care provided by the staff at Harris Regional Hospital, Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, Mission Health, and Hospice caregivers. A heartfelt thank you goes to Dr. Clifford Mault for his unwavering guidance and support throughout Bill’s illness.
