William Jason Cochran passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, aged 47. A lifelong resident of
Macon County, he was the son of Rebekah Sanders Cochran and the late William "Shorty"
Cochran. A self proclaimed "Jack of all trades and master of none", he worked on an off shore
shark boat in the early years of his adult life, moving into construction, and later mechanics.
Jason enjoyed the outdoors and ginseng digging.
Survived by Wife, Rebecca Cochran, Son, William Tristin Cochran, and Daughter, Taylin
Cochran all of Waynesville, NC. Mother, Rebekah Cochran, Brother, Adam Cochran, Sister,
Amy Byrd, and two nieces, Morgan and Madison. All of Franklin, NC.
Jason will be remembered as a Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and friend. Never having met a
stranger or leaving a friend in need, he will be deeply missed.
No services are planned at this time by the family's request. In lieu of flowers, Memorial
donations may be made in his name to any Treatment Center for recovering addicts.
