William Eugene Anderson

William Eugene Anderson, 75, of Hallsboro, NC, passed away on October 19, 2019 in Sylva, NC. He was a lifelong resident of Columbus County. 

Eugene was born June 14, 1944 to the late Simon Pink Anderson and the late Ola Barefoot Anderson in Columbus County. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister; Mary Herring. Surviving are sons; Carlton Eugene Anderson and William Timothy Anderson. Surviving are sisters, Betty Ward, Helen Adams and Martha Porter. Eugene was a member of New Hope Baptist Church In Bolton, NC. 

He retired from Whiteville Apparel. 

Eugene was an avid fan of drag racing and accumulated many trophies during his lifetime. He loved anything relating to automobiles and had some real stories about all of them. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing that was handed down from his Dad. Most of all he loved his family. He had lived in Cullowhee, NC for the past 7 months with his son due to health issues. A special thanks to his former wife and mother of his children, Inez Owens for helping to take care of him.
