Wanda Rose Mohler, age 79 of Sylva, formerly of Forest City, NC, entered her heavenly home on Thursday, February 17, 2022. She was born October 18, 1942 in Canton, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Weaver and Minnie Donaldson, her husband, Richard Mohler; daughter, Jerri Hill; sisters, Dorothy Huckeby, Edith Mease, brothers, Carroll and Harold Donaldson.
Left to cherish her memory include her son, Carl Scott (Donna) of Sylva; sister, Darlene Gregg; brothers, Wayne, Weaver and Dean Donaldson, of Canton; grandsons, James Empey, Duston Empey, Bobby Hill and Christian Scott.
After retiring with Golden Coral, she served as President of the Ladies of Elk’s in St. George, Utah. Upon returning to Forest City, NC, she raised her three grandsons, James, Duston and Bobby. She served as PTO President at Forest City Elementary, she volunteered several years with the school and also with R.S. Central Band. She was a dedicated volunteer with The Hospice Retail Shop. She also spent many years as a supporter and helper with R.J.M Trucking,but her greatest joy came from pastoring churches with her husband and working with children in North Carolina and Utah.
She was a faithful member of Spencer Baptist Church in Spindale, NC, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and other areas of the church when needed.
In honor of Wanda’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Burial will be a private service at a later date. She requested that memorials be made to Plains Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 2029 Newfound Road, Canton, NC 28716.
The family would like to thank all the team members of the Jackson County, NC Hospice group for all their help and assistance during Wanda’s sickness.
