Virginia Dare Moody, age 78, of Sylva died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at home in Sylva. Virginia was born January 26, 1934 Jackson County. She is the daughter of the late Spurgeon and the late Della (Watson) Middleton. In addition to her husband, Perry Moody, and her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Roy, J. W., and Alfred Middleton; and three sisters, Britta Lee McCoy, Josephine and Glenda Middleton.
She is survived by a son, Sandy Prather of Asheville; seven sisters, Bernice Ensley, Woody Patterson, Linda Middleton, Pat Shields, all of Sylva, Melba Harris of Castle Rock, WA, Elizabeth Davis of Forks, WA, and Joy Oldfield of Gold Bar, WA; and two brothers, Kenneth Middleton and Ronnie Wilson of Forks, WA.
She was of Baptist faith and worked many years at Ensley Rest Home as a CNA. She loved to work in her flowers and quilt. She was a warm and loving caregiver for her special niece, Brandy, and a special "Nana" for her great nephews, Tyler, Ryan, Jason, and Hunter.
The funeral will be held at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at 2:00 pm with the Reverend Johnnie Norris officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Johnny Shields, Gary and Tyler Waliezer, Boyd Ensley, Bailey Ensley, and Logan Ensley.
