Virginia Teresa Jones

Virginia Teresa Luker Jones, age 75 of the Little Canada Community, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at Skyland Care Center. Virginia was the daughter of the late Allen and Lillie Brown Luker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bob Jones. She is also preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Crawford and one daughter, Elsie Jones. Virginia is survived by one son; L.C. Jones of Franklin, one daughter; Teresa Robinson and husband Roger of Tuckasegee, six brothers; James, Wallace, Elmer, Leaman, David, Thurmand Luker all of Tuckasegee and one sister; Alene Teague of Liberty, SC. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Allison Messer, Bryan Robinson, Brandon Jones and three great grandchildren; Hunter Messer and Jonathan and Megan Manos. Virginia was a member of Cedar Cliff Baptist Church and loved spending time with her grandchildren and working in her garden. A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 am at Cedar Cliff Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ed Powell and Rev. Tim Massingale officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, July 2, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services. Burial will be at Woodring Cemetery. . .
