Victoria Deitz Buchanan

Victoria Deitz Buchanan, 94, passed away on Wednesday September 18, 2024, at Harris Regional Medical Center. She was surrounded by her loving sons and extended family.

Victoria was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County and a lifelong member of Deitz Memorial Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Jake and Sally Long Deitz.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert Dan Buchanan; grandson, Kyle Lee Buchanan; and brother, Virco Deitz.

Victoria is survived by four sons, Ronnie (Kathy) Buchanan, Dale (Beverly) Buchanan, Randall (Mia) Buchanan, and Keith (Lisa) Buchanan; brother, Grover Deitz (Cleatus); six grandchildren, Melissa Seiden (David), Courtney McGaha (Mitch), Tyler Buchanan (KC), Trevor Buchanan (Brian), Daniel Buchanan (Emily) and Josiah Buchanan. She is also survived by four beloved great-grandchildren, Raelyn, Taylor, Lane, and Victoria, whom she adored.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Charles Dean officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
