Velma Allison Webb, 71, of Sylva, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, April 4, 2014. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jessie Allison. Velma enjoyed crocheting and knitting and was a member of Tilley Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her 2 brothers Gene and Jack Allison and her 3 sisters Cleta Sorrells, Frances Connor and Sue Hensley. She is survived by her daughter- Kimberly York of Whittier 2 Grandchildren- Jessie and Corey York 2 Great Grandchildren 4 Brothers- Doyle Allison of Enka/Candler Donald Allison of Arden Marvin Allison of Sylva Curtis Allison of Webster 2 Sisters- Pat Blanton of Black Mountain Bethel McCarter of Clinton, TN A special nephew – Darren Webb of Warren, Michigan Several nieces and nephews also survive A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 PM Monday April 7 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Eddie Stillwell and Steve Webb officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 till 7:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. The Family would like to Thank the Staff at Mountain Trace Nursing Center for their loving and excellent care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Velma’s name to United Christian Ministry, PO Box 188, Sylva, NC 28779. . .
