Troy embarked on his career in California, where he sought a future in the lumber industry. He made significant contributions to society as a skilled carpenter and played an essential role in the construction of the First Baptist Church in McKinneyville, California. His dedication to his faith was unwavering, leading to his ordination as a deacon at this very church.
After his time in California came to an end, Troy retired as a carpenter after an impressive 32 years at WCU. Throughout his career, he exhibited a strong work ethic and dedication to craftsmanship that earned him admiration from colleagues and clients alike.
His commitment to his community extended beyond his career. Troy served as a deacon at Greens Creek Baptist Church until the time of his passing. His devotion to his faith and willingness to offer support to others were evident throughout his involvement with the church.
Outside of work and religious responsibilities, Troy wholeheartedly embraced various hobbies and interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He had a passion for tending to his vibrant garden filled with towering tomato plants. Known for their exceptional size, these tomatoes were shared generously with both his community and numerous doctors who assisted him over the years.
