Thelma June Martin

"TJ" Thelma June Martin, 79, of Whittier passed away early Monday morning, March 30, 2015 at Mountain Trace Nursing Center. Born May 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Berniece (Buchannon) Martin. TJ spent most of her life in West Palm Beach, FL but then moved to the mountains of NC. She was a licensed practical nurse. TJ is survived by one brother, James Martin of Washington, two sisters; Lucy Martin of Washington, Joanne L. Powell of Whittier, and two nieces; Nancy G. Brown of Whittier and Kathleen P. Stift of West Palm Beach, FL. Several great nieces and nephews also survive. A Memorial Mass will be held 1:00 PM Friday April 10 St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sylva. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Great Smokies Health Foundation, PO Box 176, Sylva, NC 28779. . .
