Stoney Brooks Ingram, age 75, of Whittier, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 surrounded by his family and friends. A native of Albany, Georgia, he was the son of the late William and Hazel Ingram. He had resided in Jackson County for the last 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and being by the lake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Diane Sutton Ingram, three daughters; Janet Thrasher of Alabama, Jill Cooper of Georgia, Samantha Ingram of North Carolina, one step-daughter, Tina Gunter of North Carolina, one son, Brooks Ingram of Georgia and two step-sons; Jimmy and Robbie Cabe of Sylva. 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive as well as one brother, Kent Ingram of Maryland and one sister, Starlett Cherry of Georgia.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral services with the Rev. Ollie Dills officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
