Stephen Roy Parker, age 68, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, after a courageous battle with dementia. He was the son of Roy and Naomi Nicholson Parker.
Born and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Stephen was a graduate of Seventy First High School, Wingate College and Appalachian State University. He was a partner in American Flag Storage of Fayetteville, the owner of Parker Ice Cream, a distributor of Bryer’s in Fayetteville, and the owner/operator of Nixon’s Crossroads Mini Storage and Car Wash in Little River.
A life long lover of fast cars, motorcycles, pretty women, traveling, and hosting parties, Stephen was always the life of the party. Having never met a stranger, his travels and interests took him to many places to do things most dream of doing. Stephen lived life to the fullest, making many memories and good friends along the way.
Stephen was a kind and caring gentleman who loved his family and friends deeply. Everyone that knew him is left with memories and stories to be told.
He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by one aunt, Elizabeth Nicholson Chester and numerous cousins.
The family would like to thank the caregivers that showed so much compassion and attentiveness to Stephen during his illness.
A visitation will be held at Lee Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Appalachian Funeral Home in Sylva, North Carolina will be directing a graveside service and burial at Lower Coward Cemetery in Cullowhee, NC on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
