Shirley Ann Gunter

Shirley Cabe Gunter, 72, of Sylva, went home to be with her departed family and friends Tuesday morning, September 1, 2015 at her residence. Shirley was the daughter of the late Taylor and Isabelle Cabe of the Savannah Community. She graduated from Sylva-Webster High School in 1961 and married her high school sweetheart. She was raised in the Wesleyanna Methodist Church and was a member of East Sylva Baptist Church. She loved to spend her days sitting on the back porch with her many friends and family and anybody who knew her sweet smile just loved her. To Shirley her children and grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She is survived by her husband of 52 years LH Gunter 2 Daughters- Sherri Gunter LeCompte (Len) of Clemmons, NC Beth Gunter Rathbone of Clyde 4 Grandchildren- Nicholas and Abigail LeCompte, Megan and Molly Rathbone 1 Sister- Carolyn Hall (Ernie) of Clyde 7 nieces and nephews also survive as well as many many friends Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Friday September 4 at East Sylva Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Dean and Reed Benson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 prior to the Service at the Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
