Shirley Jean Brooks

Shirley Jean Brooks, 72, of Sylva, passed away Monday November 12, 2012. A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Covia Hoglen Dillard. She was a member of East Sylva Baptist Church and enjoyed making blankets and quilts for her grandchildren. She loved to work at helping others. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Fern and a niece, Lisa. She is survived by 1 Daughter- Cindy Thomasson of Sylva 1 Son- Bobby Brooks and his wife Kim of Sylva Grandchildren- Kayla Brooks, Trisha Brooks, Shelena Thomasson and Angel Thomasson Great Grandson- Bentley Jones Brother- Roy Dillard of Sylva 2 Sisters- Joyce Dowdle of Sylva and Tommie Sue Curtis of Greenville, SC A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday November 15, 2012 at Old Savannah Baptist Church with the Revs. David Souderes and Charles Dean officiating. The family will receive friends following the Service at the Church.
