Shelby Jean Lanning

Shelby Jean Lanning, 71, of Sylva, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home Sunday afternoon October 18, 2015. Shelby was the daughter of the late William Hoffman and Roberta Lassiter. She loved crocheting, stitching or any type of crafts. She was a dog groomer and loved all sorts of pets. She was a member of New Savannah Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husbands William Thomas Lanning, James Guthrie and Charles Davidson. She is survived by her children; Brenda Sue Davidson of Woodbridge, VA Barbara Jean Pemberton of Naples, Florida Janet Lynn Buddington of Maurertown, VA Melissa Kay Davidson of Sylva Charles Allen Davidson of San Antonio, TX Noah Hensley of Sylva 16 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren Brothers and sisters; Carl Don Hoffman, Linda Ilkow, Virginia Vandall, Pamela Crawford and Billie Pegarsch Numerous nieces and nephews also survive A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday October 24 at New Savannah Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Morris officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the Service at the Church.
