Shelba Jean Callahan Allman 85 of the Little Savannah community passed away on Tuesday January 28th at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. Jean was born on October 27, 1939 to the late Hodge Horton (H.H.) Callahan and Mary McNeeley Callahan. She had lived in Jackson County all of her life. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Dan Callahan; husband, James H. Ensley; and husband, John R. Allman.
Jean graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in business. She worked as a payroll clerk with Buster Brown. Jean was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She also liked to bird watch and she loved to read. Jean was a member of Sylva Life Church of God.
Jean is survived by her son; James E. (Eddie) Ensley and his wife, Kimberly A. Ensley; a daughter, Leslie LeBlanc; a grandson, Christopher Ensley; granddaughters, Samantha Ensley, Raquelle LeBlanc, and Yevette LeBlanc.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 2nd at 3:00 p.m. at Sylva Life Church of God with the Rev. Tim Pressley and Rev. Donald Ensley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow in Robinson Cemetery.
