Ruth L Robinson

Ruth L Robinson, age 80, Sylva died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Med West Harris of Sylva, NC. Ruth was born May 17, 1932 in Bryson City, NC. She is the daughter of the late Robert D. and the late Nellie (Randall) Jacobs. She married John H. Robinson, Jr.. She was employed as a bookkeeper. She loved bowling, bingo, and dancing. She was an Air Force wife and enjoyed twenty years of travel with her family. Ruth was also a huge Tar Heels, Braves and Mustang fan. She adores and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased in death by a beloved daughter, Suzie Robinson Nicholson. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa and Keith Buchanan of Sylva; a brother, Jimmy and Reba Jacobs of Hendersonville; two sisters, Bobbie Nell and Dave Stephens of Sylva, and Elizabeth (Tot) Kyer of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Corina and Brian Gribble of Sylva, Matthew and Jenny Nicholson of Cullowhee, T. J. Buchanan and Katherine Dodd of Charlotte, Daniel Buchanan and Emily Coggins of Sylva, and Josiah Buchanan of Sylva; and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, September 15 at the Lighthouse Church in Sylva with Reverend Josh Hyde and Reverend Rich Peoples officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sylva Fire Department, 24 Municipal Drive, Sylva, NC. Burial will be in the Robinson Cemetery. . .
