Roger Gene Ward

Roger Gene Ward, 78, of Asheville, NC, was reunited in Heaven with his parents, Robert and Lessie Ward, on Friday, August 30, 2024.

Roger loved animals; he spent years caring for horses and cows on the farm he and his brother Larry owned together. Over the years, Roger had different canine companions whom he loved dearly. Roger was known for never missing an acquaintance or loved one’s funeral. He enjoyed attending church and live performances of gospel music.

Left to cherish Roger’s memory are his loving brother Larry Ward and sister-in-law Juanita Ward; he also leaves behind several beloved cousins.

A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva, North Carolina; a visitation will be available one hour prior. Pastor Larry Bryson will officiate.
