Robert Preston McCann

Robert Preston "Push" McCann, 61, of Whittier, NC died on June 6, 2017. Push was born Feb. 28, 1956 in New Orleans, LA, but was raised and lived much of his adult life in Hattiesburg, MS. He was the son of the late Hugh and Virgie Saucier McCann of Hattiesburg and Bryson City, NC. Push loved his family, and enjoyed playing, repairing and building musical instruments, especially guitars. He loved the outdoors, camping, fly fishing, kayaking and hiking. He also built fly rods and made flies. Push is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dell McCann, of the home. His children, Adam (April) McCann of Brandon, MS; Katie (Anthony) Ray of Long Beach, MS; Greg (Cigi) Dupree of Macon, GA; and Angela Dupree of Whittier. He is also survived by his mother, LaDean (Robert) Dunbar of Prosper, TX. His grandchildren, Preston, Aiden, Jude, Annakate and Grady, all of MS, Jaelyn and Riley of GA, and KB of Whittier, hIs siblings, Donna, Michael, Jerry, all of TX, Kendall of Arkansas, Crow of Alabama and many other relatives and friends. Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva is serving the family.
