Robert Charles (“Bob”) Leveille passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at the age of 75, after a long battle with dementia.
Born in Lufkin, TX, Bob was the second of seven children born to Charles and Ruth Leveille of the upper peninsula of Michigan. He grew up in Cleveland, TN, and is survived by four of his siblings William, Cindy, Thomas, Chuck, and many beloved nieces and nephews and their children
Bob graduated from the University of Tennessee of Knoxville, with a degree in Business Management. Later, he received his MBA from Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC. He’s survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Susan Morgan Leveille, a native of Jackson County. They were married in her parent’s front yard on a lovely sunny day, May 25, 1974
Bob loved the challenge of starting small businesses, and in 1974, he and his wife started the first of four at Riverwood Shops, Dillsboro, NC, The Cheddar Box. The second year into that business, Bob wanted to start serving delicious carry-out Deli sandwiches.
Bob’s passion, The Well House, opened in 1977 and he operated it until the early 1990’s. It was a tremendous success. Later, he and Susan opened a fine craft gallery, Oaks Gallery.
An informal Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 2:00-5:00pm at Monteith Park in Dillsboro, NC.
