Robert Holloway, age 72, of Dillsboro passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015. Robert was born April 27, 1942 in Portland, Maine. He is the son of the late Herbert Stanley Holloway and the late Lilly Loretta Matheson Holloway. He was predeceased by a sister, Lu Desroches and a half-brother, Anthony Tedesco.
Robert is survived by his wife of 23 years, Anne Franks Holloway; two daughters, Sharon D. Story of Bryson City and Morgan Holloway of the home; three sons, Baron Scott, Bobbie Ray, and Robbie Daron Holloway, all of Bryson City; two stepsons, Charles David Biddix of Whittier and Phillip Eugene Biddix of Fairmont, GA; a step-daughter, Phillis Mills of Sylva; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dr. Edward N. Holloway of Blossom, TX.
Robert was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church, Bryson City. He created rock wishing wells, he loved reading his Bible, gardening and spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, at 7:30 pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva, NC with the Rev. Corey Boone and Rev. Nick Holloway officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:15 until 7:30 prior to the funeral. A private burial will be held at a later date.
