Rev. William "Jay" Junior Eastridge, Jr.

Reverend William Junior Eastridge Jr, age 75 of Sylva NC, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022. He was born December 11, 1946, in Fries, VA, to the late William Sr and Edna (Arnold) Eastridge.

William, affectionately known as “Jay”, highly regarded the military and the fact that he had served his Country. He was always thanking other people for their service. He would often talk to strangers and try to put a smile on their face. He cherished his family and was often heard telling stories about his family history. He loved his dogs and horses.

Being an ordained minister, he rejoiced in preaching the Word of God. Jay was a very knowledgeable car salesman and even owned his own dealership at one time. He enjoyed all types of music and especially enjoyed playing the bass and singing. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. He would ride his daughter on the back on the way to church when she was a child and rode through the mountains with his son as an adult. He loved well and was loved back by many.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Judy (Bailey) Eastridge; children, Thomas (Carla) Eastridge of Greensboro, Paul (Vicky) Robinson of Sylva, Sharon Eastridge of Kernersville, Connie Eastridge of Kernersville; sister, Frankie Henderson; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 nephew.

A Graveside Service is scheduled for 3:00PM, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Buchanan Cemetery, 216 Pinewood Dr, Waynesville, NC 28786.  (PLEASE MEET AT CEMETERY)

Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva NC, have been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
