Randy Randall Mackey

Randy Mackey, 53, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord Sunday May 4, 2014 at his residence. A native of York County, S.C., he spent the majority of his life here in Jackson County. He was the son of the late George and Irene Mackey. Randy was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved golfing with 2 of his buddies, Jerry and Danny. He would enjoy playing guitar and singing and writing his own music. He loved watching Nascar, horseback riding, fishing and just adored playing with his grand babies. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers Butch and George Mackey. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Karen Gibson Mackey Daughter- Christy King and her husband Jerry of Sylva Son- Anthony Mackey Parker and his fianc Amanda of Sylva 7 Grandchildren- Cassidy, Noah, Chris, Abby, Kaylie Bug, Alyssa, Charlie and one more on the way. Sister- Carolyn Sheets of Chester, SC Randy has an extended family including Angie, Rusty, Chris and Tony here in Sylva as well as several nieces and nephews also surviving. A Celebration of his rebirth will be held on his birthday Saturday June 7, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bridge Park in Sylva with the Rev. Randy Vaughn officiating. . .
