Peggy Painter Revis

Peggy Painter Revis, age 92 of Sylva, passed away May 22, 2024. She was born June 3, 1931, in Jackson County to the late George and Marie Painter.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Revis, her sister Polly Painter, and son in law Robert Lee.

Peggy is survived by her two children, Clay (Ola “Sandy”) Revis, of Decatur AL and Janet Lee, of Sylva NC. She was a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren, Joshua Johnson, Bridgeport AL; Amy Pitts, Moundville AL; Ashley (Randall) Ricketson, Ralph AL; Kenny (Maggie) Revis Decatur AL; and Andrew Bennett, Summerset KY. She also has seven great grandchildren, Austin and Justin Pitts; Ryan and Lydia Ricketson; and Sophia, Shyanne, and Sailor Revis. Peggy is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Shirley Moses and Nancy Revis.

Peggy was a member of the Sylva First Baptist Church and a big supporter of United Christian Ministries. She was known for her creativity and love of crafting. Peggy enjoyed creating personalized greeting cards for her friends and family. She was also an avid card player. Her thoughtful gestures and kind heart will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 1:00PM-2:00PM, Sunday May 26, 2024, at Appalachian Funeral Services. Interment will follow at Keener Cemetery, Sylva NC.
