Peggy Lee Queen

Peggy Lee Queen, 76, of Sylva, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, after a period of declining health. 
Peggy was the beloved daughter of the late Ernest and Edith Jones. She was preceded in death by her brother Billy Jones and her precious son Brandon Queen, who we are sure greeted her with the sweetest smile and hug at Heaven’s gates. 
Peggy is and survived by her loving family, husband Jerry Queen, son Shannon (Crystal), granddaughter Britney Queen (Blake), granddaughter Clennan Queen, grandson Heath Queen, and step granddaughter Lilly Fox, and was eagerly awaiting the birth of her first great-granddaughter Peyton Lee who is expected in August. 
She is also survived by her nephew Mark Jones (Tammy), great-nephew Blake Jones (Aerial), great-nephew Blaze Gunter, and great-great niece Raelyn Jones. 
Peggy enjoyed visiting the ocean and surf fishing at Kure Beach, but the mountains surrounding Sylva were always home. Peggy loved her family most of all. Cooking for family and having a meal together gave her joy that made her eyes dance. Her family loved her and will deeply miss her. 
Receiving of friends and funeral will be held at East Sylva Baptist Church on Friday May 26, 2023, Receiving friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 prior to the Service which starts at 2:00,  graveside services to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Charles Dean officiating
