Peggy Dalton Cook, 75 of Fletcher went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Peggy was born in Jackson County on November 19, 1946 to the late Robert Dalton and Selma Dills Reece. She was a member of Fletcher Baptist Church.
Peggy loved to shop for her grandkids, but always shopped for bargains for herself. She dearly loved her family, her friends, and she loved the Lord. Peggy was a receptionist for the Operations Center of Asheville Savings Bank. She studied her Bible nightly and cherished time with her family. She loved traveling and enjoyed seeing the countryside.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Tom Cook of Fletcher and her daughter, Kim Hunter (Chris) of Holly Springs, NC.; two grandchildren, Avery and Cora Hunter; and sisters-in-law, Sherrie Cook and Ann Francis. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Dills and her sister-in-law, Donna Turner.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 19th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Ray Waldrop officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
