Sylva - Patsy Parris McClure, 88, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Skyland Terrace and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesville.
Patsy was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County and a daughter of the late DeWitt and Dorcas Parks Parris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st. husband, Edward Eugene Hall; 2nd. husband, William H. McClure; one brother, Benny Ray Parris; a son, Steve Hall; and three grandsons, Nathan, Steven, and Thomas Hall.
Patsy loved to paint folk art, music and crafts. She was also the author of a book called "Addie" The Life of a Hobo's Daughter.
Patsy is survived by four children, David Hall (Anita), Sandy Maney (Kenneth), Lynden Hall (Donna), and Donna Hall (Kris); five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Gail Melton; a sister-in-law, Mary Parris; and her beloved Shorkie, Abbi.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Pastor Lynden Hall, Pastor Donna Hall, and Reverend Tim Cagle officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to all the staff at Skyland Terrace & Rehabilitation of Waynesville and to Four Seasons Hospice workers especially Savannah Gass and Sam Buchanan.
