Patricia S. Jones (April 4, 1945 - September 8, 2024)

On Sunday, September 8, Patricia S. Jones passed away peacefully in her sleep at home. Known as Patti to her many friends in Sylva and elsewhere, she was a bright light to anyone who met her.

Patti grew up in Savannah, Georgia and attended Georgia Southern University where it's rumored she majored in bridge. In later life she attended UNC Greensboro where she attained Master and Doctorate degrees.

Patti was a Christian, mom, wife, business woman, educator, #1 Alabama Tide fanatic, a life long member of the Woody Hall Wonders from her Georgia Southern days, and a friend to a huge bunch of people.

Patti is survived by her daughter, Heather Padgett Futch; grandson, Tristen; son, Justin Padgett and wife Mauri; granddaughter, Ellie; grandson, Alex; son, Bill Padgett and wife, April; husband, Claude; and special kitty, Rubye Jewell.

Patti was preceded in death by her father, William J. Satterfield, II; her mother, Rubye Jewell H. Satterfield; and her big brother, William H. Satterfield, III.

A celebration of her beautiful life is planned at First United Methodist Church in Sylva on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
