Patricia Ann Cowan

Patsy Ensley Cowan, 82, of Sylva, went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday morning, February 5, 2014 at her residence. A native of Jackson County, she spent her childhood in Webster and was the daughter of the late Vearl and Mildred Varner Ensley. She was an avid reader and retired from the business office at CJ Harris Hospital. Patsy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she preceded in death by her husband CJ Cowan and by her sister Nancy Potts. She is survived by 2 daughters- Mid Cowan Buchanan and her husband Michael of Cullowhee Pat Cowan Proffitt and her husband Dennis of Sylva 5 Grandchildren- Jake and Luke Buchanan both of Sylva, Cassie McAbee and Brady Proffitt of Sylva and Blake Proffitt of Arden 1 Great Grandchild- Benjamin McAbee 2 Sisters- Sue Tatham of Etowah and Nell Fisher of Sylva A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Friday February 7 at Faith Baptist Church with the Revs. Peter Mudge and Michael Lee officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Patsy’s name to Faith Baptist Church, PO Box 9, Webster, NC 28788 .
