Patricia "Jeane" Deal Cooke, 70 passed away peacefully after a brave fight with cancer on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC. She was born on October 14, 1945 in Catawba County to the late Arthur and Dorothy Deal. She worked as the Customer Service Manager at Roses in Sylva and later was the owner/operator of "Necessatees" in Sylva. Jeane loved spending time with family (especially her grandkids), creating works of art, and taking annual beach trips.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her husband of more than 50 years, Bryan Cooke; three children, Jodie Ferguson (Jeff) of Waynesville; Jay Cooke and Jeff Cooke both of Sylva; a brother A. Lewis Deal (Jodie) of Stafford, VA; and five grandchildren, Drew Ferguson, Kellie Ferguson, Kaitlan Pangle, Hunter Cooke, and Sara Cooke. Also surviving are a special group of cousins lovingly called the "Ya-Ya's" as well as many relatives and friends.
A memorial service in honor of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 9th at Scotts Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Fish, Rev. Mike Farmer and Rev. Johnny Lee presiding. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
