Olga M. Barker

Olga M. Barker, age 91, of 245 Rivercrest Drive, Sylva died Friday, March 16, 2012 at Med West Harris of Sylva, NC. Olga was born March 13, 1921. She is the daughter of the late Dock and Annie Wyatt Nations. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She was a member of Lovedale Baptist Church, an avid bowler and gardener. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and a daughter, June Love Barker. She is survived by two sons, Charles Jr. (Buddy) and wife, Brenda Barker of Hendersonville and Tony M. Barker of Sylva; a daughter, Mary Anne Barker and spouse Doug Painter of Cullowhee; a sister, Gladys Nations Sutton of Dillsboro; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 19 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva. The Rev. Mike Farmer will officiate. The family will receive friends before the service at 1:00, burial will be in the Nations Creek Cemetery.
