Nancy Lanahan Bugby, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, age 79, passed away peacefully in her home on March 11, 2021, surrounded in love with her husband and daughters. She is the daughter of John and Dorothy Klinger of Youngstown, Ohio. Nancy lived her dream of building and living in a log home with her husband, Bobby in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. She was a member of the first graduating class of Cardinal Mooney High School in 1959. She was self-employed as a bookkeeper and her passions were sewing, stained glass making, embroidery and quilting. She made beautiful gifts for family and friends and donated quilts to those in need, as well as hand-made head coverings for those receiving chemotherapy. Most of all she loved her family. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Bugby, daughters Colleen (Alex) Lanahan Caskey and Maureen Lanahan Thomas, grandchildren Alex J. Caskey, Shannon (Loren) Caskey Rosenbeck, Liam Lanahan, Kathleen Lanahan and Aidan Thomas, sisters Carol (John) LaManna, Marianne (Ken) Niles and Patti (Robert) Krzys. She was preceded in death by her sons Patrick and Richard Lanahan and her sister Suzanne Gabele. Due to COVID-19, an update will be made on her celebration of life. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
