Miles David Gottloeb Born 1952 Detroit, MI Died October 12, 2013 in Glenville, NC Miles, a Glenville-Cashiers resident since 1995 established a strong and supportive community presence. Miles fell in love with this small mountain enclave at first sight and has been dedicated to giving back to the community that gave him so much in return. His service includes past President of the Cashiers Humane Society (now Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society); 2007 Summit Charter School Head Master Search Committee Chairman; Summit Charter School Homeroom Mom kindergarten through eighth grade (yes, Mr. Mom loved by the entire class), school bus driver and tutor; Boy Scouts of America Cub Troop #940 leader; Jackson County Recreation League soccer coach. Miles was an accomplished trainer of the Saddlebred Division of the United States Equestrian Federation; former co-owner of Coldwell Banker Carolina Mountains; owner of Premier Services and PC-MD; Miles was also the current on site Property Manager of The Divide at Bald Rock. Miles was a loving husband, dedicated father and loyal friend. Preceding Miles in death was his father, Aaron Sheldon Gottloeb and mother, Joan Vincent Gottloeb. Miles is survived by his wife of 20 years, Coleen Gottloeb and son Aaron Jacob Gottloeb both of Glenville, NC; brothers Dana Gottloeb of Maryland, Gary Gottloeb of California and Larry Saylor of Florida; Nephews Elliott Gottloeb, Ben Gottloeb, Jacob Gottloeb and Gabriel Gottloeb; Nieces Sammi Gottloeb and Brittany Gottloeb and three adoring Labrador Retrievers - Grizzly, Koda and Boo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jake Gottloeb College Scholarship Fund at United Community Bank, Cashiers, NC or to the charity of your choice. A memorial celebration dedicated to the life of Miles Gottloeb will be held at the Sapphire Valley Community Center (next to the Ski slope) on Sunday, October 20, 2013 beginning at 2:00 PM.
