Mildred Carpenter Cole

Mildred Cole, a lifelong resident of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord on February 1st, 2025, at the age of 94 after a period of declining health.

In Mildred's early life her career began with her production of clothing and other lady’s apparel. Several of which were modeled in Raleigh at a variety of clothing shows. Mildred had a love for the outdoors that later led to the start of a commercial dairy farm ran by her and her husband Caro. The Farm then led into a variety of farming enterprise of which she was active in all operations. Mildred was an active member of Webster Baptist church until she was no longer able to attend due to declining health. 

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Caro Cole. 

She is survived by her only son Harold Cole and his wife Rose Cole. Also surviving are her two brothers and one sister. 

A grave side service will be held for Mildred on Wednesday February 5th at 2:00pm at Fairview memorial Gardens in Sylva. In lieu of flowers please make donations in honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
