Mickie Dean McCall

Mickie Dean McCall, a beloved Matriarch of her family, passed away on December 13, 2024, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. She was born November 5, 1945, in Jackson County, North Carolina. Mickie was an intelligent, dignified woman with a strong sense of self. She had endless love for her husband, children, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and sister. She possessed a deep Christian faith that guided her throughout her life. 

Mickie was the daughter of Carey and Faye Dean of Sylva, NC. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years Gene McCall, her son Patrick (Jennifer), son Todd, and three grandchildren Kasey, Blake and Haley. She is also survived by her sister Janice Reynolds of Monroe NC. 

She was a patron of the arts and enjoyed watching various performances in and around the area. She loved cooking and baking. Mickie was an advocate for those less fortunate and the humane treatment of animals. Mickie began her career as a Nurse, volunteered with the National MS Society, was a Preschool Teacher and Sunday School Teacher to many throughout the years.
