Michael Raphael Masson

Michael Raphael Masson, age 55, of Sylva died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at home in Sylva. Mr. Masson was born December 1, 1960 in Norfolk, VA. He is the son of the late Frank Rogers and Margaret (Kuperman) Masson, Sr. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Masson. He was employed by the department of aging, building handicapped ramps. He loved building, and loved animals. He was a wonderful son, a great brother, uncle, and husband. He is survived by his wife of 23 years: Dorcas (Lundy) Masson; his mother Margaret (Kuperman) Masson, Sr.; his dog, Achilles; three brothers, Timothy (Wendy) Masson, Patrick Masson, and Frank Rogers Masson, Jr.; a dear family friend, Anne Masson, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 6 at Appalachian Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. .
