Michael Channing Carter, 60, of Sylva died Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Solace Hospice in Asheville.
He was a Bowl America pinsetter mechanic in Jacksonville, FL, moving to Sylva after a back injury. He started school at SCC to learn computer skills, working hard to stay on the honor roll.
Michael loved photography, web design, and reading, particularly science fiction.
Above all, he loved family.
He is survived by his sister George-Anna Lovett of Sylva, NC and
Her children Eli Boston and son Eli, Justin Lovett, Michael Lovett, Channing
Lovett; and his sister Suzanne Carter of Terre Haute, IN and her
Children, Ian Hussey, Shaun Hussey and daughter Sophia,Molly
Burkett. He was preceded in death by his parents George-Anna and
Chan Carter, and nephew Patrick Burkett.
Michael met overwhelming health challenges with courage and optimism. We will remember with great love his kind, gentle nature and wry humor.
