Melissa Ann McCoy

Melissa Ann "Lisa" McCoy, age 37, of Whittier passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 12th, 2018 in Whittier. She was the daughter of the late Howard "Goob" Frady and Sandy (Nations) Gill. She was employed at the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. Her most rewarding job was being a nanny and loving the children in her care. She loved the mountains and taking photos of wildlife and wildflowers. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Venoy and Marie Crane Nations, her paternal grandparents; Ottis and Bonnie Claybo Frady and one uncle Michael Nations. She is survived by three children; Trent McCoy, 18, Trevor McCoy, 15 and Melanie McCoy, 13. She is also survived by her boyfriend; Mark Shull. Also surviving are one sister; Marie Sutton Smith, two brothers; Michael Frady and Lonnie Gill, an uncle and aunt; Harold and Eloise Frady, two aunts; Carrie Mae Rickman and Margaret Ann Whigton and one uncle; Gary Nations. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, July 18th, 2018 at Appalachian Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Rich Peoples officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Appalachian Funeral Services. Appalachian Funeral Services is serving the family. .
