Mary Yoder

Mary N. Yoder, age 82 of Lake Glenville NC, passed away on Saturday January 27, 2024.   She was born on March 18, 1941, in Poland, to the late Walter and Ksenia Nowiczewski.

Mary graduated from Freehold High School and the Overbrook Hospital School of Nursing, both in New Jersey.  She spent her career as an O.R. nurse, working in geriatrics, and as a nursing assistant to an internist.  She also volunteered at the Glenville Thrift Shore.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 54 years, David Richard; sons, David M., of Key Largo, FL, Peter J. (Mary), of Black Mountain NC; sisters, Julie Elliot (Dino), Irene Taylor (Porter), brother, Joseph Nowiczewski; and grandchildren, Claire, Ellie, and James.

She will be missed.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM – 2:00PM on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva NC, with a Funeral Service at 2:00PM. Revs. Ralph Campbell and Jacob Tedder, officiating.
