Mary Lou Henson, of Asheville, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Mission Hospital – St. Joseph's Campus. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William Robert Henson. She was the daughter of the late Frank Thomas Jacobs and Mattie Mary Snyder Jacobs.
She was retired as an office manager in the medical and dental fields. She was a long-time, faithful member and Sunday School teacher at Beverly Hills Baptist Church. An avid reader, history buff, and bird watcher, she was a native of Dillsboro, NC and a graduate of Sylva High School. She especially enjoyed taking care of others and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
Along with her husband, she is survived by two daughters; Angela (Darrell) Frick and Melodie (Marty) Frick, two grandchildren; Roy (Maggie) Frick and Dallas Frick and one great grandson; Will Frick.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 14th, 12:00 p.m., at the Parris Cemetery in Dillsboro with Dr. Billy King officiating. The family will speak to friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to: Parris Cemetery fund, payable to: Trustees for Parris Cemetery, c/o Faye Deitz, PO Box 902, Sylva, NC 28779.
