Mary Frances Parker

Mary Frances McCracken Parker, age 94, of Sylva went to be home with her Lord on Monday, March 12, 2012 at her residence with her loving family by her side. A native of Jackson County, she was born February 1, 1918 to the late Everett and Glennie Cogdill McCracken. She was a member of Lovedale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David T Parker in 2002; two brothers, Carl and Paul McCracken; one grandson, Clifford Parker, and two infant granddaughters. . Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Simpson of Cullowhee; twin sons, Billy (Ruby) and Bob (Sara) Parker of Sylva; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Louise Ballas of Newport Beach, California. The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 14 at Appalachian Funeral Services, 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC with Revs. Mike Farmer And Tommy Ashe officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be great-grandsons. Burial will be in Fairview Gardens, Sylva. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lovedale Baptist Church 160 Lovedale Rd, Sylva, NC 28779 or Memory Care, 100 Far Horizons Lane, Asheville, NC 28803. .
