Mary Louise Deitz

Mary Louise Deitz (Crawford), age 93 of Sylva NC, passed away on Thursday January 6, 2022. She was born on January 9, 1928, in Jackson County, to the late Wiley Cornelius and Irene (Shepherd) Crawford.

Mary was a dear wife, daughter, mother, Granma, Mimi, and friend. She loved the Lord and loved being a Pastor’s wife and prayer warrior. She was very fond of all types of fruit and enjoyed gardening, loved daisies, hummingbirds, and cardinals.

She will be dearly missed by her loving children, Ann Allen (Ty), Gail Myers; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Talmadge Hayes Deitz; children, Charles Ray Deitz (Patti), Lois Kay Donley and Gail's husband, Scott Myers.; siblings, Harold Crawford, Archie Crawford, Mabel Crawford, Jean Crawford Painter, Joe Crawford, Hilda Crawford Pasour.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00PM on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at New Hope Baptist Church, 524 Old Settlement Rd, Sylva, NC 28779, with a Funeral Service at 3:00PM. Revs. Ernie Jamison and Mike Moore, officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
