Mary Sue Arledge, 68, of Sylva went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Mary was born in Haywood County on January 13, 1953 to the late Clarence and Mary Jane Conard.

Mary enjoyed listening to gospel music, cooking, and going on walks. She loved her family especially her grandchildren. Mary was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She loved the Lord.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary Norris (Jackie), of Spartanburg, SC, Patty Mathis, and Robin Gilder (Brian); grandchildren, Katrina Wood, Angel Ketz, Lacy Spradlin, Ashley Sanford, Brent Shepherd, Brandon Webb, Ethan Gilder, and Michael Hall; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Rowena Robertson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Hall, and sister, Patricia Ann Lee.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Foreman Bradley will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
