Martha Ingram, age 84, of Cullowhee, NC went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 29, 2021. She was the wife of the late Charles Ingram and the daughter of the late Claude and Arizona Bumgarner.
A long-time member of Black Mountain Baptist Church, Martha loved quilting and baking, especially for her church. She dearly loved her family.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother and his wife; Marvin and Doris Bumgarner.
Martha is survived by two sons; Charles (Denise) Ingram Jr. and James (Ann) Ingram and five grandchildren; Bryan (Lindsey) Ingram, Christopher (LaToya) Ingram, Rebecca (Michael) Kolcun, Tara (Matthew) Wood, and Brandi Ingram. She is also survived by three great grandchildren; Gabi Ingram, Jace Ingram, and Abel Ingram, two sisters; Willa Mae Stewart and Eddie Robinson, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Cullowhee Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roger Stewman officiating. Martha will lie in state prior to the service on Tuesday morning, February 2, 2021 at Appalachian Funeral Services from 9:30 am until 11:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Martha’s memory to the Black Mountain Baptist Church Youth Group, 67 Twin Fiddlers Dr., Cullowhee, NC 28723 or to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, 620 Sea Island Rd. Suite 288, St. Simons Island, GA 31522.
