Marilou Rogers Ginn, age 74, of Sylva passed away on August 26, 2014. Marilou was born January 6, 1940 in Clay County , NC. She is the daughter of the late William Clay Rogers and the late Mabel (Jones) Padgett. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joe Hamilton Ginn.
She was a teacher and taught at Scotts Creek School in Jackson County. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, painting and all kinds of art.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey and wife, Holly Ginn of San Antonia, TX; a daughter, Lynette Ginn of Sylva, a brother, Bill Rogers of Raleigh; a sister Martha (Scottie) and husband, Russell Saltz of Hayesville; five grandchildren, Bill and Wes Jamison, Brynn Throgmorton, Clay and Corbin Ginn; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 7:00 pm with the Reverend Charles Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 before the service.
