M.G. Decker

M. G. Decker, 84, of Sylva, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Vero Health and Rehabilitation. He was the husband of the late Nancy Bryson Decker and the son of the late Luther and Violet Decker. 

M.G. attended Wesleyanna United Methodist Church and was retired from the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed gardening and working ouside, especially mowing grass. He dearly loved his family. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother; J.D. Decker.

He is survived by two sons; Greg (Janet) Decker and Mark (Laura) Decker, two daughters; Melissa (Steve) Jackson and Deborah Lynn Decker and eight grandchildren; Luke Decker, Laura White, Allison Decker, Kristen Decker, Michelle Decker, Sawyer Jackson, Colt Jackson and Kandi Cash. Eight great-grandchildren also survive along with one sister; Meredith Palmer and several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Wesleyanna United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. John Mitchell officiating. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN.
