Lyle Donald Hall, 95, of Sylva, passed away Thursday morning February 4, 2016. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, Lyle was born April 21, 1920 to the late Richard F. Hall and the late Mamie (McMahan) Hall, In addition to his parents, Lyle was predeceased in death by his wife, Helen Cagle Hall; a sister, Ruby Hall, and two brothers, Clyde and Zeb Hall.
Lyle was a World War II Army veteran. He retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs in 1982 and began his own construction company. He was a member of the Lovedale Baptist Church. He loved singing Gospel music, golf, athletic events, wood carving and spending time with his family. He was very active in the building program of Lovedale Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda (Fred) Stiles; a son, Carroll (Libby) Hall; grandchildren, Traci Franklin, and Cameron Hall; three great grandchildren; and sisters, Eula Mae (Darrell) Frizzell and Genevieve (E. J.) Coates.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday February 7 at Lovedale Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Farmer, Rev. J. D. Grant, and Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lovedale Baptist Church Music Dept. 160 Lovedale Road, Sylva, NC.
