Luther Eugene Coward

Luther Eugene Coward, age 71, Cullowhee died Friday, July 29, 2011 at Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC. Luther was born June 25, 1940 in Jackson County. He is the son of the late John and the late Zeina (Stephens) Coward. He was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. He served in the Army during the Vietnam war. He retired from National Park Service the Blue Ridge Parkway division . He is survived by his wife: Judy Coward of the home; one son, James Tom Coward of California; two step sons, Jonathan and wife April Solesby of Burnsville, NC, and Kenneth Solesby of Williamston, SC; a daughter, Lisa Jina Coward of Washington; one step daughter, Tracy Iverson of Hendersonville; and two sisters, Doris Stiwinter and Bernice Rochester of Cullowhee; two grand daughters, Amanda and Miranda; and three step granddaughters Sara, Camery, and Katelyn. A memorial service will be held at 7pm Monday in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services.. The Rev. Carl Step will officiate. .
